Press Herald: Maine high court sends challenge to Munjoy Hill condo development back to city

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court vacated a Cumberland County Superior Court decision upholding the city’s approval of the proposed condominium development in Portland’s historic Munjoy Hill neighborhood. The planning board decision has been sent back to the city to justify why the project should move forward.

“If you walk around that area and envision what (Wells’) project would look like, it’s a very large structure that would be imposed on a neighborhood it doesn’t belong in,” said Beth Boepple, who is representing a group of neighbors opposed to the development.
