WCSH: Lamoine votes in record numbers to enact moratorium on large-scale developments

News Center Maine shared the story of Lamoine residents saying “no” to a proposed “Glam-campground” by an Arizona-based company.

Beth Boepple assisted the non-profit group Growing Lamoine Responsibly in successfully spearheading a moratorium vote at a special town meeting Monday night to effectively halt a developer’s plans to build a 200+ acre glamping campground in Lamoine. Voter turnout was unprecedented, with more than a third of the town’s 1,300 registered voters supporting a moratorium on large-scale developments.
