Attorneys Kelly McDonald and Sage Friedman recently presented a webinar on the successful lawsuit brought by Coastal Counties Workforce against the Governor of Maine.
In this case, the federal court concluded that the Governor was violating the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act by refusing to release Coastal Counties’ portion of federal job training funds, about $3 million. This first-of-its-kind ruling provides useful guidance for other workforce boards across the country. Attorneys McDonald and Friedman discuss the case and how other workforce boards can use the federal court system to their advantage.
