Murray Plumb & Murray is proud to have represented the owners of Za Pizzeria and the Truckin’ Pizza food truck, in their recent acquisition of Slab Sicilian Street Food in Portland’s historic Public Market building. Attorneys Fulton Rice and Beth Boepple advised the couple through the asset purchase, which included assuming the existing lease (and negotiations with Maine Public Broadcasting, the new owners of the Public Market building) and structuring financing for the transaction.

As reported by the Portland Press Herald, Za Pizzeria officially opened its doors on Preble Street in April, bringing its signature pies to downtown Portland. Owners Jessica and Brandon invested in customizing the space, blending Slab’s legacy with their own vision. Their expansion from a mobile food truck to a brick-and-mortar location is a great example of Maine’s entrepreneurial spirit we are honored to support.
