She previously clerked for the Maine Judicial Branch, supporting multiple jurists on the Maine Superior Court and the Business and Consumer Docket where she gained extensive experience with complex civil and commercial litigation matters.
Meredith earned her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, where she graduated first in her class. While at Maine Law, she served as Production and Research Editor of the Maine Law Review and received numerous CALI Excellence Awards across a range of subjects including Evidence, Civil Rights Litigation, and Administrative Law. During law school, she also held multiple positions, working at law firms, assisting professors with research, and serving in the law school library while excelling academically. Remarkably, she completed her Master’s degree in Policy, Planning, and Management at the University of Southern Maine at the end of her 1L year. Her scholarly article, After A.S.: Proposals to Alleviate Psychiatric Boarding in Maine, was published in the Maine Law Review. She was also recognized with the Faculty Scholastic Achievement Award and the Maine Board of Bar Examiners’ Kenneth R. Clegg & Laurie A. Gibson Awards for Excellence on the July 2023 bar exam.
Before law school, Meredith earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Iowa State University. Her early professional experience includes policy advocacy with Preble Street’s Maine Hunger Initiative, where she led statewide anti-hunger efforts and collaborated with community leaders and legislators to address food insecurity.
Meredith is passionate about public service and community engagement. She previously served as Co-chair of the City of Portland’s Rental Housing Advisory Committee and remains dedicated to advancing access to justice and fair housing in Maine.
Meredith lives in Portland with her American Foxhound rescue, Marshall. In her spare time, she is active in the local performing arts scene, plays piano, hikes with Marshall, plays pickleball, and reads.
