Dick’s litigation and appellate practice focuses primarily on business and commercial disputes, employment law, education law, and civil rights cases that are typically resolved in federal court. He frequently appears in the U.S. District Courts for the Districts of Maine and New Hampshire and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Dick devotes a significant portion of his practice to the representation of individuals with disabilities and their families, often in cases arising under special education or anti-discrimination laws. In addition, Dick has experience litigating a range of civil rights and constitutional claims, having served for nearly 3 decades as the chair of the Legal Panel for the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine.

For over twenty years, Dick has devoted much of his free time to helping students learn about the law as a lawyer coach for the Maine High School Mock Trial program. He currently coaches the eight-time state championship mock trial team from Cape Elizabeth High School.
